Aircraft hangar completed for Ola Tronrud
Location: Eggemoen, Hønefoss
Client: Ola Tronrud AS
Building Specifications: 30m x 30m
Hallmaker has completed an aircraft hangar to form part of a bigger industry building complex for Ola Tronrud. Hallmaker used the same suppliers and materials that were used for the entire building project, to retain the overall look and aesthetic appeal.
During the process Ola Tronrud designed, produced and mounted the two doors onto the hangar.
The large door measures 22m x 6.4m and features a sandwich panel (adjusted for size requirements) and the same mounted glass that has been used throughout the building. The door weighs 2500kg.
The smaller door measures 11.8m x 5m and weighs 1000-1200kg. Both of these doors were constructed with hydraulic lifting cylinders, giving them the abilty to open to almost 90 degrees.
In addition, a partition featuring mineral wool was built in to separate the hangar from the industrial building, in case of fire. The partition was mounted with the ability to be dismantled in the future, at the convenience of the client, should the company need to re-purpose the hangar for other business requirements in the future. All designs and functions were adjusted to suit the client’s needs and requirements.
Currently this airplane hangar is rented out to Daimler AG for the world launch of the new Mercedes EQC. The facility hosted journalists and Mercedes Management at Eggemoen, Hønefoss.
